It also has serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SRI) activity, and was used as the template molecule in the development of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) fluvoxamine. In addition, tripelennamine has dopamine reuptake inhibitor (DRI) activity.
