Immunopharmacology Comments
The IL-31 receptor is a type I cytokine receptor expressed on monocytes [3]. The α subunit (IL31RA) can bind ligand as a monomer or as a partner in a heterodimeric complex with the oncostatin M-specific receptor β subunit (OSMR).
Ligand binding to the IL-31 receptor leads to activation of the STAT and ERK1/2 pathways [1-2]. The IL-31/IL-31 receptor pathway is involved in pruritus.
