General Comments
SP100 is a transcriptional coactivator. It interacts with and potentiates the activation of the ETS1 transcription factor [2] which is an important mediator of several physiological and pathological processes.
Note that whilst SP100 does not contain a consensus bromodomain (BRD), it does contain a SAND DNA binding fold, which akin to the BRD, is involved in chromatin-associated transcriptional regulation [1]. SAND is an achronym for the range of proteins containing this binding domain: Sp100, AIRE-1, NucP41/75, DEAF-1.
