Summary of Clinical Use
There are many indications for the use of diazepam, including treatment of severe anxiety disorders, management of insomnia, as a sedative, as an anticonvulsant, and additionally in the management of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Diazepam is a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor; anion channel, enhancing γ-aminobutyric acid activity.
