Summary of Clinical Use Click here for help
Used as a muscle-relaxing agent and as an adjuct in general anaesthesia.
Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects Click here for help
Competitively binds nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, decreasing the binding of acetylcholine at the postjunctional membrane of the myoneural junction. This prevents depolarisation and the release of calcium ions and therefore muscle contraction does not occur.
