|Artenimol is used to treat malaria as part of an artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT).
Artenimol is on the World Health Organisation's 21st Essential Medicines list (2019) as an antimalarial for curative treatment in combination with piperaquine. This is one of the ACTs recommended in the WHO's Guidelines for the treatment of malaria .
