Bioactivity Comments
Benapenem has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, that is similar to other carbapenems, and demonstrates an in vitro MIC50 of < 1 μg/ml against most bacteria species tested [2]. It has in vitro activity against Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) producing Enterobacterales, including Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolates with an MIC90 of 0.25  μg/ml [1].
