Summary of Clinical Use Click here for help
Verdiperstat (AZD3241) has completed Phase 2 clinical evaluations in patients with Parkinson's disease (NCT01603069) [3] and advanced multiple system atrophy (MSA). The MSA study (NCT02388295) found no evidence of clinical benefit despite confirmation of a reduction in microglial activation in degenerating brain areas in study subjects [4]. The Parkinson's disease trial found sufficient evidence to support proof of mechanism of AZD3241 and to warrant extended clinical evaluation in Parkinson's patients.
