There is no information regarding approval for clinical use of this drug on the US FDA or European Medicines Agency (EMA) websites. Cefteram pivoxil has been granted marketing authorisation in Japan (sold as Tomiron®) where it is used in the treatment of otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections (including cystitis and pyelonephritis) and respiratory infections(Pharyngitis or laryngitis, tonsillitis (including peritonsilli- tis and peritonsillar abscess), acute bronchitis and pneu- monia, caused by susceptible bacteria.
