Efavirenz is used in combination with other antivirals in the therapy of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Drug combinations include efavirenz + tenofovir + emtricitabine, and efavirenz + tenofovir + lamivudine.
Neuropsychiatric adverse events (NPAEs) which can lead to patients discontinuing use have been described [2].
