Comment: Tazobactam (CXA-201) is a β-lactamase inhibitor with antibacterial activity [1]. It is used alongside β-lactam-containing antibacterials to reduce their lactamase-induced degradation. Chemically tazobactam is a penicillin derivative, that binds as an irreversible inhibitor of β-lactamase.
